Podcasts

From scripted podcasts like Dark Air with Terry Carnation, starring Rainn Wilson as a late-night DJ on an AM paranormal radio show, to Thom’s appearances on podcasts.

Writer/director Thom Harp's latest feature film, Home Delivery, is out March 27, so he stops by Made Possible by Pop Culture to talk about telling the tale of a tense family reunion during a home birth and how the David O. Russell's Flirting With Disaster seeped into his DNA so much after seeing it when he was in college, it not only influenced Home Delivery, but also another project he has in the works.

The Writers Hangout

We are so happy to have as our guest, Thom Harp, a screenwriter and director recognized for his work in comedy films and digital media. Thom is here to discuss 'HOME DELIVERY,' his latest comedy, which he both wrote and directed, scheduled for release on March 27 at a local theater. Furthermore, Thom has three feature projects in development: the teen comedy 'CRASH COURSE' for American High; the murder-mystery comedy 'KILLER PARTY' for producer Josh Shader; and an adaptation of the New York Times bestselling romantic comedy 'BUSINESS OR PLEASURE' for producer Margot Hand. There is substantial knowledge to gain here, writers, so press play!

Nominated for a Banff Rockie Award for Best Fiction Podcast! Rainn Wilson leads a cast that stars Karan Soni, Al Madrigal, Yvette Nicole Brown, Aaron Lee and Jennifer Maclean with guest appearances by Tom Lennon, Sam Neill, Nathan Fillion, Angela Kinsey, Kevin Smith, Susan Sarandon, Liz Manji, Desmin Borges, Matt Jones, Kate Flannery, Jason Reitman, Janet Varney, Mark Proksch, Creed Bratton, Mindy Sterling, Kether Donohue, and many more. In every show, Terry takes calls from listeners. Every actor was brought in for written characters, and then given topics to call Terry about in completely improvised calls. The show within a show calls gave us so much material that we created 3 bonus episodes featuring calls that were too long to fit into the regular length shows. You can listen to all episodes, including the three bonus ones by clicking the pictures below.

Show creators Rainn Wilson and Aaron Lee assembled our writing room in February 2020, with a goal to get all 14 episodes written by June 1 so we could record by Chris Kelly of Kelly & Kelly Audio in the summer and release for Halloween 2020. Three weeks later, we went into lockdown for COVID. Instead of recording in a studio over 2 weeks, Chris Kelly and I created a system where we could record sessions over Zoom with the audio recorded on the actor's computers. It was a tremendous undertaking, and took over 2 months to record in 2-3 hour sessions, but the end result is indistinguishable from studio work. Tremendous credit is due to the writing staff, led by Aaron Lee and episodes written by Aaron Lee, Danielle Koenig, Mark Loughlin, Rainn Wilson and myself, and the Herculean editing and sound design by Chris Kelly and his team at Kelly & Kelly Creative in Vancouver.
